I grow my dahlias in grow bags. I do this for multiple reasons.
- My Bamboo Guy black cloth grow bags warm the roots up earlier than in-ground planting. I was selling cut flowers at the grower’s markets last year before most people’s dahlias had barely started growing out of their soil.
- Gophers do not eat my tubers.
- Like a raised bed, they are easier to take care of and prune, and being higher, it is easier to maintain a weed-free Garden.
- As you can see by this photo I grow some tremendous tuber balls.
If you want to try some Grow Bags try my grow bags I had made for growing tomatoes, dahlias, and other deep-rooted vegetables and flowers.
