What is a Nakiri Knife?
A Nakiri knife is a Japanese-style knife that is designed for use with vegetables specifically. It’s often compared to a Santoku knife, another Japanese-style knife, but while a Santoku knife is super versatile – it can be used for vegetables as well as other foods – a Nakiri knife is specifically for cutting, slicing, and dicing veggies.
A Nakiri knife is made with precision in mind – it has a straight edge, squared tip, and a thin, rectangular blade.
Anyone can own a Nakiri knife, but, they’re particularly popular among chefs who like to use more specialized knives in their cooking. This not only makes their work easier and more efficient, but it means that each knife experiences less wear and tear, making them all last longer.

This is a beautiful knife block. The fit and finish is exceptional. The size is perfect, it holds my 8” chef’s knife, 7” santoku, 4” paring knife, 6” utility knife, and 10” honing steel very well. Knives slide in and out of the slots very easily. The whole setup doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. It’s the best looking thing in my kitchen!
Would recommend 👌
The knife is really beautiful and looks much better in person than on the pictures. Noticeably good fit and finish with mirror polished surfaces.
It is sharp right out of the box. I have used it for a short period of time and cannot comment on the sharpening and edge retention.
I like it and it has been a pleasure to use.
I would buy it again if I needed another one.
It exceeded my expectations!
Beautiful design.
Sturdy construction with good materials.
Awesome fit and finish.
Super sharp right out of the box.
Balanced well.
It is a real joy using it!!
Excellent craftsmanship!!
As a fan of steel from Seki Japan, at first I was skeptical and it sounded too good to be true. When we are so used to something it’s hard to believe that there are good products not as expensive as the one you are used to and I couldn’t be more happy with this purchase. Xinzou mastered the art of powder steel providing the knife with one of the hardest core you can find in the market. The 73 layers are real, not laser engraved and you do feel it in the knife. The knife arrived perfectly sharp and protected individually wrapped in a beautiful box. As any sharp knife you do have to be careful, since this knife are really sharp. I regret of not buying a larger set and I ended up ordering more to complete the set with a cleaver. I read some complaints regarding the handle, but frankly speaking it feels like real olive wood, and it hadn’t get dark, nor unpleasant to the touch. It’s true that I might prefer another finish in the handle, specially for the meat knife to use at the table, but this one are not bad at all and the price is fair.
